I came across this picture on Facebook when a friend had recently posted it. A few weeks ago there was a picture similar to this one that looked like the actor Nicolas Cage. The picture with Nicolas Cage and Daniel Radcliffe have the same humorous effect. I guess it is comparing that since Harry Potter is a wizard, so he is almost immortal. There is an article from the Hollywood Reporter makes humorous claims that Nicolas Cage must be a vampire because the picture looks exactly like him. The article said that the picture of Nicolas Cage look a like was offered one million dollars for the picture. I think this is a good example of a nanostory from And Then There's This by Bill Wasik. The Nicolas Cage picture died down and now there is the Harry Potter picture surfacing.

ReplyDeleteI saw the Nicholas Cage version of this photo on Yahoo Featured news! which is right in the middle of the web page site. The similarities between the actor and the older picture found were crazy close. I think the fact that the Nicholas Cage version of these two photos has influenced a Harry Potter one, there is potential that more photos of famous people along with black and white doppelgangers will emerge. I agree with your claim that this is a good example of the nanostory in that these photos have become a large talking point (I have seen this on Tumblr as well as Yahoo News) in that the Internet has helped magnified it. Thanks to the Internet, the funny photo has been able to become a nanostory! :)
PS. This photo is hilarious, Daniel Radcliffe and the other guy could be twins separated at birth!
